History
Ellie grew up in a small wizarding town on the Dingle Peninsula in Ireland with her twin sister, Emma (darlingtwin). Ellie was born just eight minutes earlier than her twin, but she sometimes feels as though it's more like eight years. The twins are as different as night and day in terms of personality, but they are still exceedingly close. Emma is Ellie's best friend and vice versa. There is nothing Ellie wouldn't do for her sister.

The family is an average middle-class wizarding family. Both of their parents work - Dad as a Muggle Lawyer and Mum runs a bookshop in the village. The twins help out in the shop during holidays from school, though Ellie tends to spend more time there than her sister does.

Ellie's other favourite person in this world is their older brother. He's a couple of years older than the twins and even though Emma often rails at his protectiveness, Ellie doesn't see it as much, since she is much less social than her more outgoing twin.

Life at Hogwarts has been pretty uneventful so far. Ellie has tended to spend more time with her books than socialising. Emma drags her out on occasion, frequently, so she isn't without friends, but she prefers the quiet company of a small group to the large crowd of acquaintances that more commonly surrounds her sister.

Academics
Ellie is a total bookworm. She loves all her classes and she loves to read. She spends a good potion of her free time curled up in the common room or a corner of the library just reading, whether it's for schoolwork or just for fun. Charms and Potions are her best subjects, where her complete lack of reflexes make DADA one of her worst, but with her attention to school, even her worst class is as good as some people's best.

Social Life
Social life? What social life? Kidding. Ellie does have a few close friends who she cherishes more than anything and, of course, her sister is her absolute best friend in all the world. As much as she likes to spend her time reading or studying, she also enjoys a little quiet quality time with those nearest and dearest to her.

Ellie has never had a boyfriend or even a real big interest in boys. She's far more into studying and hanging out with her friends than anything that might get in the way of that. She's a romantic at heart, though, something few people know about her. The main reason she doesn't chase after boys the way her sister has is that she's waiting for someone special to come along. She's not about to kiss just anyone who's willing.

Strengths/Skills
Ellie has a sharp mind, which she mainly uses to keep up with schoolwork and learn about every little thing that interests her. She also has a knack for debate, though, and she's definitely not afraid of a good argument. This is especially true when a loved one's honour is called into question or the subject of purebloods vs "mudbloods" comes up.

Ellie has a lot of passion for the things she believes in. She's not afraid to go toe to toe with any of the bullies in the school, those who might pick on those they consider inferior, and she's not about to tell those elitist prats in Slytherin tell her she's anything less than them just because her Dad happens to be non-magical.

Say anything against her family or against any of her pet causes and you'll find out in an instant just why Ellie is a Lion. She may not be quick to draw her wand for a hex, but she'll debate with the best of them and it's difficult to miss the passion behind her words when she does. Ellie simply doesn't stand for seeing someone's rights trampled on and you'll be hard pressed to stop her once she decided to put herself into a project, cause or situation.

Weaknesses
Ella's idealism causes her to see the world as it should be rather than how it really is. It causes her to sometimes place lofty expectations on people and things, only to be disappointed when they don't work out. Her ideals can also get her into trouble, because while she's not extraordinarily rash, Ella doesn't know how or when to back down from a fight. When she gets it in her head that she is right, she doesn't change her mind easily and she'll keep fighting even if she doesn't have a real leg to stand on.

Some (especially her twin!) would say that Ellie really needs to lighten up and enjoy life a bit more. There's such a thing as being too bookwormy sometimes and it really applies in Ella's case. She could definitely stand to learn when to stop burying herself in the books and when to relax and have a little fun!

It's a good thing Ella isn't into sports, because she's not very well-coordinated. She has two left feet and can only dance passably thanks to years of forced dance lessons as a child. Those who know her have long ago stopped trying to talk her into impromptu games of just about anything for her own safety. Ella playing a sport? Almost always results in a trip to the hospital wing. The same applies to flying. She fell off of her broom at least a dozen times in first year flying lessons and was relieved when she was finally allowed to stop taking them.

In the Stars
Ellie and Emma were both born under the sign of Taurus. Positive characteristics include stamina, patience, practicality, frugality, creativity, a love of beauty and nature, faithfulness, loyalty, determination, sensuality, and affection. Negative characteristics are stubbornness (there's a reason why stubborn people are called bullheaded), materialism, resistance to change, laziness, a terrible temper once aroused, prejudice, and sometimes an unimaginative nature.

These wizards will be less hot headed and apt to charge at windmills than other Gryffindors, for Taurus is an earth sign, and the element of Earth adds a pragmatic streak to even the flightiest of wizards. As with all Taureans, though, if a Gryffindor Taurus is pushed hard enough, she will exhibit a volcanic temper. Gryffindors born under this sign will be exceptionally loyal to their friends, and will have high standards of personal integrity.
